On the second week of high school, the princess was nominated by the sophomore football team to be on the “
The dress requirements were school colors, which are Kelly Green, Black and White. The senior girls warned her that white is reserved for them. She looked beautiful and that dress popped more than any of them on the field!
Jake escorted her during the pep rally the morning of Friday, September 26, 2008. His parents asked how we talked him into getting a haircut. All we said is that we were on our way and asked if he needed us to pick him up. He said that he would meet us there…
One of the seniors asked what kind of car would be parading her around the football field. When she told her that it would be a Bug, the girl scoffed at her because it wasn’t a pretentious Vet!
Kevin looked sharp donned in suit and tie, walked with the beautiful princess as the commentator read, “Sophomore Maid is Ms. Kamille W. Tonight she is being escorted by Mr. Kevin M. She is a member and All American Nominee of the VBHS Pointer Prancer Dance Team, member of FBLA, and Spanish Club. She attends First Baptist Church of VB. Ladies and gentlemen, sophomore maid, Ms. Kamille W.”
There is no dance for homecoming. It is for the alumni to come back home to their high school for the football game and are honored there at half time. They get to tour the school and have a type of reunion. By the way, this was the first game that they have won in a few years, so it was even sweeter (vicariously) being part of the homecoming court.

She looks amazing. You must be so proud to have raised such a great daughter. You are a real example to me Kate. I don't know how you have done it. I hope that I can be half the mom you are.
P.S. I have to tell you that I am in love with her dress! Black looks amazing on her. White, I think, looks too weddingish. This really makes me look forward to when my daughter is that age.
I miss her being your daughter's age! I tell her all the time that when she was in the first grade I could help her decide on clothes and I didn't have to worry about boys or makeup or driving. She was easily swayed to my way of thinking. Not so much now!
You're right about the white! I'm grateful that white was for the senior girls and if she ever gets this chance again, I will try to get her to wear a color instead of white!
Oh Katie, she looks so beautiful!!! You must be very proud to have such an accomplished daughter.
Congrats, Kamille!
Thank you Sally!!
