Mornings are not my thing. I push the envelope with the snooze button and cram as much preparation into an hour resulting from snooze button manipulation. It’s habit that I get out of bed, head straight for the shower (after I say good morning to the Princess) and end up back in bed, hoping that by some miracle, I can just go back to sleep.
This morning I got up, said “Good morning” to the Princess and as I attempted to get into the shower I turned on the faucet and just a trickle of water came out!
In my sleepy stupor, I struggled to recall paying the water bill. …Uhm. Yes. Yes, I did. Ok. What else could it be? I groggily stumbled back to the bedroom to get my Hero who asked “Did it freeze last night?”
I dunno. Frozen water pipes could mean broken water lines under our house.
Whatever the problem could be was infringing on my over scheduled, already delayed morning routine!
My wonderful in-laws invited us to shower at their house. A great debate took place in my head. Should I call in sick or should I go into work? I ended up feeling obligated to continue feeding my nasty eating habit, so the angel on my shoulder won the contest.
On our way to the in-law's house, we saw the city water workers repairing a main water pipe about a block up from my house.
We showered, chatted and drank coffee. By the time I was supposed to be at work, we left to go back home so I could finish my hair and make up for the day. As we neared our driveway, my Hero expressed how unhappy he was going to feel if the water had been restored to our residence upon our return. We walked into the house and he flipped on the kitchen faucet to learn that he was just going to be unhappy.
Some days I wonder if the snooze button should just be avoided and the whole alarm just turned off so I can again dangle in dreamland!

I'm with ya on dangling in dreamland. I have a really hard time waking up in the morning! It sounds like you had quite the adventure with your water...
