Why him?

Because:

We met on the phone through a business situation and he introduced me to a picture of himself as Vern via the internet. At the time, I wanted to meet someone that I could have some fun with. While my step-mom and I scrutinized the online photo, she stated that he’s definitely someone to have fun with!

As we dated, he asked thought provoking questions and my incessant honesty allowed me to consider my answers not only for him but also to learn for myself. We talked about serious relationship topics, unconsciously quizzing our compatibility.

Still, I was skeptical as I’d been hurt before and consequently let him move 1300 miles away. The moment that he drove out of sight, I knew that he was “The One” and about a month later I moved to Arkansas to be with him.

We were married on April 23, 2005, a date that he chose because it was the anniversary of our first date three years earlier. I love that he recalled the actual day and it made all the more special.

He doesn’t leave the household responsibilities up to me by choice. I don’t have to nag! We do them together, or on a schedule that rotates to insure that we have days off from chores. Grocery shopping is also something we do together which he makes pretty funny because he knows that shopping isn’t my thing.

We love to cook together and host dinners for his family or friends once in a while. The three of us have “Friday dinner out” night each week, which has become challenging since now the Princess dances at the high school ball games. We’ve moved it to Saturday night so that all three of us can keep the tradition, also tricky with a social teenager. This was his idea when I first moved here and making the attempt shows us that we’re both important to him.

My Hero keeps tidbits of information stored up, such as where certain brands of goods are made or distributed from. His favorite shows on TV are the educational type as he can never have enough facts! He is self taught computer programmer and if he doesn’t know an answer to a question he will not rest until it has been resolved.

He displays a rather cool exterior but I know that he’s a big softy inside. He can negotiate his way out of any disagreement that may come up and still melt my heart by making me laugh!

We laugh a lot together and I’m so very lucky to have this wonderful man as my husband, best friend and Valentine! He has made my life so special and fun!

I love you, Kez! Happy Valentine's Day!

Oh that was the sweetest thing that I have ever heard in my life. I know that you feel lucky to have him. However, I have to tell you that HE is more than lucky to have YOU! You are a great person and I love following up with you and being friends again after so long!
